The 19th International Conference and General Assembly of the Society for Peace Studies and Practice (SPSP) has concluded, and the electoral committee, led by Benjamin Ibientoye, has announced the newly elected national leadership.
The following distinguished members have been elected to lead the Society:
- President: Prof Benjamin Aluko, fspsp
- Vice President, North: Dr. Muhammad Kudu Abubakar, fspsp
- Vice President South: Prof Chubuzor Nwobueze, fspsp
- Secretary General: Dr. John Tor Tsuwa fspsp
- Assistant Secretary General: Ms Simiat Abaru, mspsp
- Publicity Secretary: Mr Bode Ojomu, mspsp
- Treasurer: Dr. Shehu Hashim, mspsp
- Financial Secretary: Mrs Bimbo Alabi, mspsp
The newly elected leadership is expected to provide strategic direction and guidance to the society as it continues to promote excellence in peace studies and practice in Nigeria and beyond.
The outgoing-President, Mr Nathaniel Msen Awuapila, fspsp, on behalf of the outgoing NWC, has congratulated the in-coming President, Prof. B.A. Aluko, fspsp, and his executives, as he assured that the hand-over process will be concluded no later than January 12, 2026, which will mark the 3 full years of the Administration.
